Sustainability

Cim Finance has over 39 years played a critical role in driving both economic growth and social progress. Our main purpose is to help people achieve their ambitions because finance can be a key enabler of social and economic progress when it is dealt with in the right way. We know how our day-to-day decisions impact on society and how our innovative products, services and solutions deliver both social and financial prosperity. We aim at doing business that provides our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve with access to a prosperous future by using our skills, resources and commitment to deliver the best results for all stakeholders and by seeking fair, ethical and open solutions to problems.

    Social Inclusion

We believe finance should empower people and communities. This belief guides every choice we make, ensuring that opportunities remain accessible, whether it involves supporting a student's ambitions, helping a small business flourish or giving families the means to build stability.

We also measure our success by the extent to which we contribute actively and meaningfully to society. Over the years, we have directed our resources, expertise and commitment towards programmes designed to create lasting impact. This dedication is expressed through three pillars: Community, Education, and Environment, each representing an area where we can make a tangible difference, reach more people and address genuine needs that align with national priorities.

Social inclusion is not a separate programme we run; it is part of who we are. Cim Finance's employees actively and eagerly volunteer in initiatives and appointed 'culture influencers' are driving awareness in every department. Our strong, longstanding relationships with NGOs, ministries, and community beneficiaries keep us closely connected to real needs and ensure our resources are directed where they can make the greatest impact.

    Education

    Education

Education is a fundamental right and a pathway to economic independence. We believe that skills development and financial literacy empower people to make more informed decisions, become self-sufficient, and contribute positively to society.

    Environment

    Environment

Environmental sustainability is about making responsible choices that create lasting positive impact. We use our resources to preserve our environmental and social heritage.

    Community

    Community

We work constructively with social groups to build greater resilience in communities, focusing on children, teenagers, and women. Through sports and shared values, we promote well-being and social cohesion.

Cité Cim, Rivière Du Rempart - Affordable housing project

    Objective: Provide decent, affordable housing

In February 2016, heavy flooding devastated the Cite CIM community in Riviere du Rempart, causing extensive damage to homes and livelihoods. Since then, we have been actively involved in the neighbourhood, helping families not just get back on their feet, but help them long term, giving them the tools to take charge of their own futures. This project has delivered 40 new or renovated homes for families, providing a safer, more stable space to focus on daily life, personal growth, and the wellbeing of their children. This year marks the conclusion of this project, a 10-year long journey that has strengthened the community and empowered families — a model we hope to replicate to create more resilient, self-reliant neighbourhoods.

Cité Riche Lieu – Renovation works

    Objective: Provide decent, affordable housing

During the year, we renovated five homes in Cite Richelieu for families whose houses had been damaged by heavy rains, leaving them exposed to leaks and poor living conditions. Roof reinforcement works were carried out to ensure long-term durability and protection, while a fresh coat of paint created a more comfortable and pleasant living environment.

Light of Hope: Homeless Support Abri De Nuit, Port Louis

Objective: Support people with no shelter

On World Humanitarian Day, 19 August 2025, Cim Finance organised an outreach event to support homeless individuals at Abri De Nuit, Port Louis. Residents received gift bags containing essential items, including socks, handkerchiefs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, T-shirts, slippers, and blankets. The event also provided meals, medical consultations, grooming, and a drug prevention awareness session, combining immediate relief with longer-term awareness.

Oasis de Paix, Pointe Aux Sables

    Objective: Support school dropouts

Cim Finance partnered with Oasis de Paix, an NGO co-founded in 2006 by Father Henri Souchon and Mrs Monique Leung, which provides a structured environment for children who have dropped out of school. The programme offers education and guidance to regain opportunities for personal and social growth. We supported the initiative by providing school bags for all students and partly financing school uniforms.

    Association Kinouété, Beau Bassin

    Objective: Reintegration of detainees

Association Kinouete has been working across Mauritius' correctional institutions for over two decades, helping detainees and ex-detainees reintegrate into society. Through this project, Cim Finance contributed to a comprehensive programme offering rehabilitation, counselling, vocational training, and social reintegration support. Over the next 15 months, male and female detainees will be given the support, tools and guidance needed to rebuild their lives and pursue personal growth.

To Rev Nu Vision, Beau Bassin

    Objective: Alternative education and skills

To Rev Nu Vision provides an alternative pathway for students who have left formal schooling, blending academic support with practical skills training. Cim Finance helped fund foundational literacy and numeracy lessons, alongside offering vocational skills like cooking, sewing, and gardening. The programme also encouraged participants to showcase their talents through performances and raise funds from their creations, fostering confidence, creativity, and a sense of community among students from Cite Barkly, Cite Vuillemin, Cite Chebel, and Camp Levieux.
